Here's the thing. Ignition is a pain, idle is high (sometimes starts high ~2k, sometime starts around 500 and ramps up) and when I put it into gear the vehicle lurches, as if I'm accelerating when putting it into gear. If I allow it to coast on a mostly flat surface it accelerates...
I discovered this sensor and its INCREDIBLE sensitivity to touch (makes motor stutter or die if bumped) while troubleshooting the idle. Would this cause any of the things I'm speaking of?

Agreed it's the CPS plug. The wires run down to roughly the 10:00 position on the bell housing? (facing forward). Any wire or conection that changes being bumped or wiggled should be cleaned/repaired.
Next to your TPS, on your throttle body is your IAC. (Idle air control). I guess on my older Jeep the latch relay keeps power on for a few seconds after I turn off so it's motor can reset the IAC for the next start. It's pretty easy to pull and clean the IAC, just be genital with it. I've had those relay plugs/sockets get funky. Never a bad Idea to pull and check and clean them.

Seriously though, thanks. I'll be under the good this weekend.
