Default Iat?

Is the air charge temperature sender the same sensor as my iat? My iat has never been replaced and at auto zone the guy sold me an air charge temperature sender.

Does it look like your old part? IMHO it's just a different name for the same thing.

Anyone's IAT is likely caked with crud and could be cleaned. The sensor part is in a cage that is all gunked up.

LOL I did mine a couple hours ago. It was a lot worse than picture above. Just looked like a big black turd on a stick. Couldn't even see the cage. It's now looking like the one in Cruiser's picture.

Those are IAT turds. Check your FSM under fuel injection controls for turd removal.

You didn't happen to test before and after, did ya?

Well then question: Just clean these things off, or buy a new one? Do cleaned ones work as well as a new one when you're trying to optimize mpg?

Mine have cleaned up just fine. Test it if you're concerned.
