Hey I saw a pic on here of someone's engine bay that has the hose removed and had a filter coming from the valve on top of the valve cover.

Any ideas why this was done or what it improves.

Didn't mean to hijack thread, figured it was over.

Well the hose takes crankcase HOT air and vents it into the air intake. It's not 'clean' so I image disconnecting it, and putting a filter on it was done to keep some of the nastiness out of the air intake, and also heated air?

Just a guess, but I think it's a good one.

Alot of people like to just run a little filter instead of running it to the airbox. It's filtere from the airbox anyway so really it's un needed.

that hose is to draw out crancase pressure with it disconnected the crankcas pressure can build at high speed and possibly blow oil out of the dip stick tube or any other weak gaskets that contain oil putting a filter on it inside the air box would be better than having it just laying there with one on it, it does not draw air in it is to draw air thru in the intake system
