I have the Silver stars in now and they are great compared to stock. I have a pair of the no names that I have tried numerous bulbs in and didnt put the light out that I wanted. They were however way better than stock. I am putting my Autopal housings back in with HID's after christmas. Search autopal I loved them. The glass doesnt do well when dropped.

I got the IPFs available from Quadratec. I LOVE THEM!!! I went with the basic white bulbs because I'm too old to have those stupid blue and green things. The kids can run those. The white, blue and green bulbs are available for these headlights, though. These things are twice as bright as my stockers were.

I just ordered the ones from Ebay made in India for $25 plus shipping. They aren't DOT but I'm keeping the 55/60 H4s in there, although blue, so as not to draw too much scrutiny. I also found a set fogs on Ebay with a clear lens for $60 plus shipping that will get blue 55w H3s. Put the fogs on already but the switch is bad .... surprise, surprise ... got it on order from Jeepsareus.com ... so I wait. Gonna' try to take some take pics ... I have Silverstars in there now but I think the new fogs and H4 conversions will be even better. We'll see ... I hope

Cheap headlights just like anything else are cheap for a reason, they are inferior to name brand lights. Why would you want to save a few dollars and put lights on your vehicle that are of a considerably lesser quality and will not perform nearly as well as good quality lights. You might as well throw away the 20 bucks you spend on crappy lights.

They are for just the housing then you replace the bulbs with good ones.

Default I'm gonna find out ..

I guess, Juice .... I did some research before buying including looking at a few pretty good threads on this site and what I found is that AutoPal from India have been making these conversion kits forever and were liked by most who tried 'em .... the Hellas, which are DOT, were about $115 for the pair. Big difference but at worst it will only be a $25 mistake, right? Not the end of the world. I'm expecting a big improvement over the sealed beams.

I just ordered a pair of the IPF H4 conversions from quadratec, they are on their way, I havent installed them yet, I also got some xenon bulbs for em. But IPF does make good stuff. I would say IPF, Hella, or Delta Tech for the H4 conversion.

Yes but the housing is just about as important as the bulbs that you put in them. Cheap housings have poor reflective qualities and are built with cheap materials are engineered to deliver great but rather provide "adequate" performance upgrade. Putting an expensive bulb in a cheap housing is not going to give you the illumination your looking for. Lights are just one of those things that you've gotta spend the money on to be pleased with. Cutting corners to save a buck or two just doesn't make logical sense in this case.
