use a big c clamp and compress it all the way in. take the c clamp out and quickly put it on the rotor. should be good to go after that.

I use a big freakin' pair of channel locks (see write-up). You can do it like that, a pad spreader, or a c-clamp and one of the old pads. Just make sure you don't get the piston cocked in it's bore.

Oh, p.s., take the M/C cap off too and don't squeeze too hard or too fast.

When I just did this I took the caliper off the brakeline and put it on my workbench and pryed it apart and slid the rotor in, once the caliper was off the brake line there wasnt near as much resistance

That works, but why go thru and have to bleed the system when you can just do it slow?
It's easier because you don't have to push that fluid back thru the lines into the M/C & res.

taking the brake line off was a huge waste of time. if you were a mechanic you would make no money. :brick wall:: brickwall:

A c-clamp does the trick. Ive always used them and never had the piston come back out after I clamped it back down into place.

Take the master cyl cap off 100%..I tried to do it without b/c I didnt want it to overflow all over the ground but its fine if your fluid is at the correct level. If you dont take it off, you're gonna have a helluva time pushing that piston back in. With the cap off, I was almost able to push it by hand.. Haynes manual states the cap removal process in like the first or second step

I've always used a C-clamp with no issues, though I've never taken the cap off. I do think that is a pretty good tip though, just to make it a bit easier.
