Default i need pcv valve help on my 92 cherokee

on my 92 cherokee it has a older model renix valve cover what grommet fits best and wont leak oil i have this type of pcv valve

. only reason it has a renix valve cover is because the motor i bought from oreilys came with it and if i take it off it voids the warranty i have on the motor.

That looks like the PCV for an 86 and earlier. Double check the diameters, but I think you need Dorman part# 42059 https://shop.advanceautoparts.com/fi...-grommet.c5754.

1987-1991 Renix actually used this: https://shop.advanceautoparts.com/fi...-grommet.c5754
I should also point out that the Cherokees don't use a PCV valve. it should be a small orifice leading to the intake manifold vacuum in the rear, and the front hole is open to the air cleaner.

it does look right. what my mechanic did was go to oreilys/autozone and find ones that fit and they leak pretty bad. edlebrock sells some that looks like it would fit and it says it will fit

That's the wrong "PCV valve". I find it hard to believe that someone would rebuild an H.O. motor with a Renix valve cover. How do you know it's a Renix cover?

Lawsoncl described the system. Metered orifice elbow in the rear connected to intake manifold, front elbow (non-metered) in the front connected to the air cleaner.

This should be the rear one for a '92

Default i find it hard to but i guess oreilys motor company recycles parts

it has the same exact valve cover as my 87 cherokee and it had the factory valves on it. it even has the renix oil fill cap. ill git a picture in a little bit so yall can see the valve cover i might be wrong but it looks just like my renix valve. never buy a motor from a parts store i bought it in august not even 800 miles later the cam decided to go down in the motor and stat exhausting out the intake because of the oil i used or so the motor company said. i had to go through a big warranty ordeal and they still aint given me my money back for paying my mechanic . now im stuck with this motor that im almost 110% sure its a renix and not a ho. because the first had a 93-96 valve cover on it and seemed allot better in terms of speed and torque

I think the OD on that is actually larger than the hole in the Renix cover? If he has a Renix cover, probably best to use the Renix grommet and tube to the intake manifold. Or swap over his old valve cover since his warranty coverage seems to be crap anyway.

Default gotta agree lawson

i still have the blowed motor with the ho later model valve cover and i have my 92 motor both of which have different valves one had the twist in style and the other has the grommet style. im probably gonna put the ho later model valve cover because the ccv pcv valves are pretty easy to get ahold of. but if i did do that and it decided to blow up again my warranty would be gone and i would have to bite the bullet. but how they are treating me i might aswell void the warranty

The really looks bodge up in the back doesn't it. That front fitting looks wrong as well. If that's just an elbow, it's okay, but it should not be a PCV check valve as it's supposed to let fresh air in.
