My 97 jeep grand cherokee has the plastic trim around it how do i paint or replace with metal i need ideas on how to change or get rid of them

I got a larado and it has plastic on the bottom part of the doors and fenders

While mine is a Cherokee, not a Grand Cherokee, I removed that plastic stuff, sanded it down and just painted it black. It looks much better now.
