Default Ebrake Tensioner Rod & Hardware....???

I've been searching till my eyes bled. Can't seem to find the info I'm looking for.... I want to replace my ebrake tensioner rod and whatever hardware is required for it. Other than the dealer, is there a source for it? I'll check the pick n pull but I'll bet the ones I find will be as bad or worse than mine. Mine are badly seized on and before I get into trying to break the nuts free, I want to have backups on hand... If it's dealer only, does anyone have part #'s for them? I have a 99 xj, 4.0, AW4

Sadly, no. The tensioner I'm looking for is on the driver's underside, about midship.....

That is the item#29 in the picture..... Easiest place to find is a junkyard.. Or you can make one from a piece of all-thread.

OP, if you head to the junkyard to find one, make sure it's for 97+ XJs. The older models have a fatter, wider equalizer that will not fit in the box.

Shoot a PM to Big David on here and he can probably help you out, that's where I got mine. Be sure to tell him you need one specific for 97+.

Since you have a 1999 check out Morris 4x4 Center knowledge base.

http://www.jeep4x4center.com/knowled...ex.htm#service

They have the 1997-1999 XJ parts book available as a PDF to get the OEM part numbers.
