i have a 1987 cherokee and i love it but its not doing to good right now when i am in first gear and i start to go there in a grinding sound it sounds like it is coming from the transmission but i dont know can any one help me

 

well usally when you hear weird sounds from your trans its too late. i have burned up a few mustang t5 transmissions from running out of fluid because of a leaky case.check the fluid level and if its low top it off and hope the trans lasts. this is what i did to the last one that was too low on fluid. melted the input gear and aux drive gear lost every gear but 4th.
