Default 2nd question of the night

i started my 88 xj 4.0 tonight it idled rough almost kinda surging with a kinda sucking sound coming from the right of tb under intake.if it is just vac line or somthing nbd my concern is that it is 9 deg here in ill.is there a freeze plug on that side maybe it has a jasper reman in it with about 50k dont know what the block is made out of.

Your intake/exhaust gasket may be leaking, manifold bolts loose? Brake booster hose have a leak in it? Those are likely causes. There may be others but these are good places to start.

update. fixed. vac hose that goes into side of tb fell out
