I have a 93 jeep cherokee 4.0 I6. will a 93 jeep grand cherokee with a 4.0 I6 be an identical swap on transmissions?

 

As long as they're both AW4s I don't see a problem.

Hey Rooster, I would crawl under there and look at it to confirm. Second, go into your settings and turn off showing related threads and infinite scrolling. It's too easy to end up in a long dead, 10-year old thread. :}

For the record, the first half of 93, the grands came with the AW4 before they switched over to the Chrysler transmissions. I've owned two of them. I assume they would be interchangeable as they had the 231 xfer case behind them.

 

yes I have been doing some research on them I called in the numbers on the transmission it is a 42re. Jeep manufactured June of 93 and yes I'm trying to figure out how to use this when I first commented I didn't realize how old this post was I will go to my settings and try to figure it out thank you for the information
