Default I need help

Ok i have a 96 2 door jeep cherokee. I am having to change the heater core and i am having problems with getting then screws on top of the box in the passenger side out. and what is the plastic strap that goes around the box. Also i am changing the door lock cylinders. does anyone know how to. iv took the panel off and i cant figure out how to change them.

REMOVAL

  1. Remove the door trim panel and waterdam.
Door Lock Cylinder/Latch




  1. Disconnect the door latch-to-lock cylinder rod at the door latch.
  2. If equipped, disconnect the security alarm switch connector from the lock cylinder.
Door Lock Cylinder Removal/Installation




  1. Remove the key lock cylinder retainer clip. Remove the lock cylinder, gasket and clip from the door opening.
  2. If applicable, remove the door latch-to-lock cylinder rod from the original lock cylinder. Connect it to the replacement lock cylinder.
INSTALLATION

  1. Position the lock cylinder and gasket in the door opening. Hold the lock cylinder in the opening with the retainer clip.
  2. Connect, the door latch-to-lock cylinder rod to the door latch.
  3. If equipped, connect the security alarm switch connector to the lock cylinder.
  4. Test" and, if necessary, adjust the door latch-to-lock cylinder rod operation.
  5. Install the door trim panel and waterdam.
  6. Adjust the door latch.

there should be a clip right againts the door that slide of allowing the lock to fall out after you have removed the rods

thanks. that will help alot. i took it all apart today and it was hard to figure out how to take the cylinder out. they sure dont make things easy.

i took the bottom part out and parts around the glove box. i really dont want to take all of the top part out. is there a way to change it without having to take the whole dash out.

If it is anything like a 98, NO. Does it have A/C?

I don't know what the plastic strap would be either. I am pretty sure the dash has to come out though.
