.

POR is good for metal that wont be moving, wont be subjected to the elements, and wont have debris thrown at it to damage it.

IE. Not for vehicle use

I have decide just to cut out the rot and weld in a new piece.

However the new problem is where the water is coming from, when it rains the water is coming in through a 1.5" hole behind the passenger side kick plate. The penetration is for the antenna wires and a vaccum line presumably for the fresh air intake.
I dont have a problem filling the hole with "Great Stuff" foam, Im just concerned about why the water is sudennly coming in there.

I thought maybe the grille infront of the windshield had rotted through until I realized it was just for show. (Felt like a dumbass)

Anyone else had this happen?

Ok, you wanna know how this happened? The previous owner took it through deep water, never pulled the drain plugs, never removed the carpet or insulation, and never did anything about the water.

Then the d-bag let it sit for months. And months. And months.

Basically what I'm getting at here is the PO is a effing moron. He practially had to TRY to eff up the pans, and even with that I've got good stuff to weld to and fix. He did NOTHING to slow the progress of the corrosion, which is why it is as bad as you see. You have such a better foundation because you met the cancer at the beginning, not at the end like I did.

On top of that, he kept it for awhile, and continued to drive/wheel the truck.

You are seeing the condition of the truck after the damage.

I also kept driving it, and only considered fixing the holes when I realized snow would make its way inside the truck, and I'm using it as a winter truck.

The little hole or holes you've got aren't that much of a concern. Get rid of the rot that is already there, paint it with a good paint, then fix it when you can do it right.
