The original poster hasn't posted since August 2015 so this thread is really just dead in my opinion. And Cruiser is right that it wouldn't crank if the NSS was acting up. It defeats cranking in any other position than N or P so if it's cranking, it at least works enough for that.

maybe the original poster was asking assuming that one only turns to forums for answers AFTER trying all
of the obvious solutions, checking the Haynes and Chilton books, searching other forums, and trying other random things one might find across the internet to stumble upon a solution to one of the massive PLETHORA of wiring issues one might encounter upon owning a friggin Jeep.
please remember that kindness is a currency that is all too rare in this world. we weren’t all taught mechanical skills as we grew up. some of us had to just have a mechanical inclination, and the will to teach ourselves. however, some of us have also come far enough and taught ourselves enough that we assume “pros” like you understand that we’re only asking for help because the answer hasn’t been available anywhere else.

I think I'm being called out on a 7 year old post that was never responded to by the OP!
As I re-read my posts, I don't think it was rude to ask for information (which the OP never did provide) as to whether the Jeep was running before all the parts were swapped out.
I don't post much on this forum anymore but it was definitely a god send back when I was working on Renix Cherokees! Long live the forum!!
PS good to see Cruiser is still active too.
