anyone running hydrolic assist? What time are yall running. Im in the process of collecting parts for my Dana 60 swap.

Just a heads up if you plan on driving this on the street at all forget about hydro assist.

But the OP mentioned that this vehicle is not a DD therefore that is irrelevant to the subject at hand, but thanks now that you mention it I do recall that.

You use a hydraulic ram with your steering pump. The ram replaces your Steering Stabilizer. That's what makes it assist, were as Hydro-Steer replaces the steering drag link...

yep assist helps increase steering force while maintaining the mechanical connection via steering box pitman arm draglink. Full hydro seering replaces steering box with metering(orbital)valve and hydraulic hoses connected to the hydro-ram so full hydro lacks a mechanical connection from the steering wheel to the steering knuckles and thus the safety(some states legal) issue
Full hydro= hose fails no steering
Hydro-assist= hose fails less powerful steering
