Default HVAC pro needed

So i pulled the dash back and replaced the AC/Heather cores on my
2001 xj and everything seem to go great. that was last summer. This winter I noticed I have cold air coming from behind the glove box.

Any ideas what would cause that? it fit perfectly back into place and there are no holes or gaps in the fire wall. it all sealed up great.

So it has to be something in the hvac box. maybe a blend door got stuck open?

you can put it to vent and it will bring in fresh air from outside right? so it has to be a vent or blend door thats stuck open.

Because when i put the heat on it works great and comes from all vents properly as you change the controls but in all cases there is cold air with a slight forceful breeze coming from behind the glove box. if you open the glove box and hold your hand there while driving 55 you feel its substantial.

Any ideas??

Thanks

Remove the kick cover, like when you are going to replace the blower resistor block. Take a look at the Recirculation Air Door and its actuator which is right next to the resistor block.

Make sure the Recirc door actuator is connected to the door and see if the door is fully closed. Start the Jeep and cycle the recirc door open and closed with the AC Mode selector ****. See if it seats closed properly and doesn't leak blower air at least you'll know this is not the issue. If the recirc door is stuck open, even a little bit, it will allow outside air to enter the cabin.

CCken I think you got it. i had pulled the dash back with that kick panel attached, so i notice now when putting it back things were not in their proper place. that green vacuum line was stretched to much and while it was attached it might have been kinked. after getting that line more slack and making sure it was attached right i restarted and the door cycles properly and it is fully closed.

with that area open i got it up to 70 mph and really could not feel much cold air at all, with it all buttoned up and the glove box door back in place im sure its 100%.

Really appreciate your help bro, was so worried i would need to pull that box again wow what a job.
