Hvac illumination

I know dumb question but is the hvac control area on a 1996 jeep cherokee supposed to be lighted? I just replaced the stock radio n I wonder if I missed something.

I did the same thing in my 88. Did you use a harness adapter or did you cut the factory harness? If you cut the factory harness put it back together and get an adapter. If you used an adapter pull out the radio and hvac control, check the back of the hvac for a broken/loose wire. I pinched a wire and killed my hvac light.

Remove your dash bezel and then the four screws holding your climate control panel in place and replace the bulb on the back driver's side of the panel with #74 (a.k.a. PC74 or L000PC74).
