hummer 242 swap
Will a 242 t-case from a Hummer bolt up to a Cherokee with minor modifications?
Does anyone have any links for this swap?

I want it because it has much stronger internals and a beefier case than the Jeep version. But I found out that the hummer version doenst have a 2-wheel drive selection. I think Dodge and some V8 WJs have an HD 242 but havent done enough research on them yet.
Did a ton of research and found out you can mix and match parts from both hummer and Jeep cases so you can have the 2-wheel drive and the stronger internals.
I know the 231 case is this and that, but of the two XJs Ive owned, the 242 was my favorite. I live in colorado and the 4-wheel full-time option is great on the snow/ice packed streets
My current XJ has the 231 and its good and I hae no complaints. I just prefer the 242. So right now Im looking for a Jeep 242 to swap under my XJ. Then hopefully beef it up in the future with the hummer and or dodge cases since theres no after market support for the Jeep version.
