Hub/Brake plate trick?
Hi, brand-nizzle to the forum, still figuring it out. Here because I'm trying to change the u-joint on the front passenger side of my '97 sport. Got the axle nut off, and am hammering away and using a putty knife to try to get the hub off the knuckle but it wont come off the brake plate. Over-doing the PB Blaster, too. Any tips or tricks that might help?

Hi, welcome to the forum.
Check out posts #4 and #5 in this thread:

That should do the trick.
Also, this question came up yesterday. Typically on the forums we don't like to discuss the same topics over and over (even though that's exactly what we do) so we encourage people to search for answers before posting threads. I do not use the forum search function because I can't figure it out. I typically will google something like "Jeep cherokee xj forum xxx xxx xxx." This pulls results from several forums such as naxja, jeepforum, and cherokeetalk. To search for this problem, I would've tried something like "jeep cherokee xj forum unit bearing hub removal trick." Sometimes its just a matter of using the right keywords.

Thanks all!! I ended up doing basically what you linked. Found it here: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=8Ly3pC...ature=youtu.be and thanks for the search advise, I was real overwhelmed.
