Default HP Questions

I recently removed that Cat, put on banks headers with a 2.5" exhaust and a flow-master exhaust. I also put a performance intake and filter and I'm wondering how much extra hp I picked put. I know stock it's around 177 so I'm curious if I pushed it up to around 200 or more. Also, do throttle body spacers actually do any good, mine came with one and I have yet to remove it and have heard the argument both ways.

you would be lucky to get 15 hp out of that.

get a high flow cat and put it back on, needed for your back-pressure, plus ILLEGAL not to have one. and you would notice more with better fuel injectors and a bored TB....

Not putting the cat back on as Oklahoma doesn't inspect... second off, it just sounds too nice. Cats suck for back pressure as they cause negative back pressure, the pipes and muffler creates enough as it is.

Add a 99' intake manifold, bored throttle body, and do the ever so popular injector swap. You'll definitely see a difference after that. Stock horsepower for a 96' is 190 HP and if you do all that mentioned above, with what you currently have, it should be over 200 HP. It's not like it's gonna knock 4 seconds off your quarter mile time, but you'll feel the difference. If your looking for a major difference, go with gears.

What is this injector swap I keep hearing about and how and what type of injectors do I use? Why a 99 intake manifold and how do you bore out a throttle body?

x2 on everything except the manifold question (cause mine is a 99), mainly the fuel injector question. Anyone know a write up for this?

Dont put the 99 and up intake manifold on there, it actually lowers your torque and loses horsepower, which is not what u want. JP magazine did a DYNO test on this

i lost a little low end pep with "high flow" cat (if u know what i mean). but probably picked up a mere increase in gas mileage.

I, my self would throw a new high flow cat back on. To make it legal for re-sell. Should you ever want to. Also the back pressure issue.
