How to refinish gold cherokee rims?
I have the original gold cherokee rims and im wondering how to refinish them.. i would need to take all the old paint off which would be really hard because its inside all the little laces and small areas. I really think i would need like a sandblaster or something, any suggestions? Trying to keep this as cheap as possible. The image i uploaded is not mine, mine are much worse its just for reference.

I personally would not waste alot of time or money on those, you will end up getting half the paint off with paint stripper and spending $50 bucks to do so then need a self etching primer to stick paint to after that, then be upset when it all looks like crap because you cant get paint in those little nooks and crannies, just scuff them up good with a scotchbrite and shoot em your favorite color and enjoy, then save your $ for future wheels with better back spacing.

I say either dustless blasting or soda blasting they will both strip the paint dust less is water with recycled glass, makes no mess but is pricey. Soda blasting pretty much baking soda that is pressurised strip paint pretty good, but leaves a mess.

I was asking around a few years ago about my old Honda engine. (bike). I guess Walnut shells can do aluminum without pitting it. Your idea of just painting the worn face and leaving the crevasses might make sense though.

I absolutely love these rims, the style especially. It's such a clssic, and would be a great collectors item in the future, would anyone agree on that?
