Default How much transmission fluid goes in a cherokee 4.0?

I dropped the pan and changed the transmission fluid filter. How many quarts should it take to fill it? My dip stick tube isn't in the right spot, so I can't get an accurate reading on the transmission fluid. I put in 5 quarts, I can't tell where the fluid is. How much did it take to fill yours after you dropped the an and changed the filter?

There was a recent thread that beat this subject to death and then some.

~4 quarts refill after dropping the pan.

I would fix that dip stick for the long run because that is the only way to really know what your level is. Read the thread.

I'm not sure how to fix the dip stick tube, the top tube won't go down into the bottom tube. How do I get it in there?

So the top of the stick that overlaps the tube into the tranny wont go all the way into it and seat over it?

When the pan was bolted up, did the bottom tube move/bend down or did the top tube move/bend at the bolt bracket up?
