Yes, mine has 250+ and has been confined to farm duty for the last year, but amazingly, everything still works, A/C, power windows, automatic tranny, 4x4 unit.............The 4.0 takes abuse and neglect as if it enjoys it.

my 1991 has 180,000 on it and when i pulled the oil pan and checked my bearings they had almost no wear on them! never been replaced as far as i know. These 4.0's will literally run the rest of the vehicle into the ground before they break down, i love it.

My 1990 Cherokee Sport has 230K on the original transmission, but the engine was replaced about 60K miles ago.
My 2001 Cherokee Sport has 35K on it... bought, believe it or not, from the proverbial old lady who kept it garaged for most of those years as a "snow vehicle".

192,000 on my current 99 4.0, no troubles
only got 124 out of my 89 4.0 , think the PO overheated it often.
186 out of my 86, blew the 2nd motor and scrapped it, but it was the gm 2.8

Bought it with 322,XXX
I bought my cherokee RHD with 322,000 miles, and drove it another 5,000 before deciding to put in another used 4.0 w/ low miles. The original motor has some lifter knock but not real bad considering what she has gone through delivering the mail.

what are you runnin for a lift / backspaced wheels? im tryin to sell my 33 x 12.50's cuz i dont think i could run them with a 3" lift.... nevermind this post i read your re 4.5 in your profile. still what wheels tho?

got an 87 renix xj with 170k on the odometer previous owner replaced the engine about 75k miles ago, which was 18 years ago
im the 3rd owner in 21 years. The first owner used to to tow, so im lucky i have a dana 44 full time 4 wheel and an well cared for engine thats still almost new. Not too bad for 800$,now if i could just get the oil to stop leaking
