I have a 1992 Jeep Comanche with 125600 miles on the 4.0 high output. When I was working constuction one of the owners houses had a 1984 jeep Cherokee with over 450K on original engine: not rebuilt. Jeeps last forever. How many auto matufacutes can say that!

Just clicked 116K on my 99 this past weekend on a trip. Bought it 4 years ago next month with 62K.

Got me through my last 2 years of high school (which included delivery duty at my 1st PT job), and and so far almost 3 years of college (which means ALL highway travel). Really racked up some miles on it in the last couple of years and it's been rock solid reliable the whole way.

Mine's getting up there, 236,517 and it's a 1987. I've had a couple issues, but overall this vehicle runs like a champ. Just so you know, electrics get real brittle on a heep when it gets anywhere close to 20 yrs old.

I traded straight across for mine last year in September. It is a 99 that had 150,000 on it and now it has 158,xxx on it. The oil is clean after 2500mi and doesn't use a bit of oil. It does have a leaky pan gasket and rear main but you can't see that by the dipstick. I haven't had to add oil to it yet. The PO bought it from a guy with 20's on it so it wasn't very mistreated at all. And the PO only had it for 3 months!

My oil pan is leaking right around the drain bolt. I'm thinking next change I'll get a rubber o-ring and just seal that up.

I'm thoroughly convinced jeeps have 1,000,000 miles in them. I'm going to keep driving mine and see if I can hit that point. If I do, I will write a letter with photos of my XJ to its dearest makers and inform them of my accomplishment.

I'll also be throwing a massive party.
