i have a 96 4 door 5 speed and i wanted a stick cause i am ust learning to drive and wanted ot learn to drive a stick early and i like having more control but it was the only stick 4 door that i saw when we were looking for a rig alot of the 2 doors are sticks but there are some 2 door auto's (my buddy just bought a 2 door auto for his first rig) i think there are more sticks in the wheeling world cause of control and some other things and thats why you are seeing them more in these forums. alot of the cherokees are suto though i think i only saw 6 stick shift jeepos when i was looking from mine and i was prolly looking for 6 months or so.

Here in Germany, the German spec Jeep Cherokees are automatic if it's a unleaded Jeep and standard if it's a diesel Jeep. This applies to the 1980's to 1996 models. The standards are the 4 cyl motors and unleaded are the six cyl motors.
