The reason you don't find manual trans jeeps in junkyards is that people keep them. they are just too much fun to throw away.

Haven`t checked on this thread in awhile..I`m amazed the voting has run about 50/50...I`ve kept an eye out lately and in the 5 surrounding large junkyards over the past several months I`ve yet to see a single manual Jeep

First of all I ahve been told the clutch won't handle it, that is an easy fix but I want to know if there is anything else I need to know or do to get it pull'n ready.... Thanx for any help you folks can offer....
Jeep rates tham at 2000lbs on account of folks like aleXander's buddy.
My Jeep has the original clutch in it, 170,000 miles on it, wheeled in tough terrain often, and I towed over 5000lbs from Maine to Arizona (tonne of mountains to get over) 3500 miles. I since towed 2000-3500lbs many times... and as mentioned, still on the factory original clutch.

Don't slip/ride the clutch, when shifting from gear to gear make sure the clutch is fully engaged, then apply power... just like driving a big rig... go easy on your equipment and you will not tear it up.

had a purple two door 4.0 stick, but it got wreaked in an accident. Now I drive a four door green 4.0 auto.
Now every time I shift into drive my left foot gets boarded.
