haha yeah if you're just going for LOUD go with no Muffler but loud quality Flomaster. it's all opinion though too I like my Cherry Bomb. and for louder dump it off before the axle then either go down or out to the side. (make sure it's legal in your state of course)

Quote: yeah These are all excellent ways to make it loud. Also the more air you shove in there Cold Air Intake Throttle body spacer make it more of a "loud" sound but the best way is always going to be 2.5 Exhaust all the way back with Flo master I have a Cherry Bomb Glasspack i love it but it's an opinion here's an excellent site to buy from it's a guys on the forums site.

I'm not very familiar with mechanical things but....i see the super 44 with the 2.5 inch pipe and then i see where i can buy a Y pipe tip...im confused about what pipe goes between the muffler and the tip?
Thanks for your help

I cut my muffler off last night, sounds loud good and NO raspiness. I would go with no muffler than if it's too loud, lol, or you get in to trouble with the law throw on a glasspack or muffler of your choosing.

Any 6 cyl is not going to sound great at high rpm's unless you dont mind that Euro car sound. I took my muffler off last year because it was shot and also removed the catalytic converter, I then installed an old Flowmaster I had used on a 396 big block and it sounds great at idle and low rpm's. It is 3 inch from where the convertor used to be back to the other side of the muffler and then back into the old exhaust pipe.

I have a 3" SLP loudmouth muffler with no cat. It sounds pretty good but its LOUD. I have a new Magnaflow cat ready to go on, just no time. On a side note the muffler looks real nice when cleaned up, because its polished stainless steel.

I have my exhaust cut at the downpipe, with a 2.5" inlet to 3" outlet cherrybomb glasspack on it and it's definitely loud. it was a lot louder with the flowmaster 40 on it though, just sounded way too raspy for me at anything above 3000rpms.
