Best way is to buy a new exhaust. I will not condone the removal of a CAT.

you should buy a chery bomb glass pack, there $20 bucks. Just install it in place of the muffler.

Kyle does not want the cat removed but you can do so if it is a strictly trail rig I think. Is that right Kyle?

Also you can get a flowmaster muffler pretty inexpensively off of ebay, you may consider that aswell.

What is your rigs purpose? Road or Trail.

Trail: Remove the exhaust after the CAT.

Road: Unleash your wallet, you will end up buying something.
(OR just make that small hole in the muffler bigger)

Why would you want to make it louder? What's the point? If you'd like to make it more efficient and airflow-effective, albeit increasing the decibels, that's one thing. But to make it louder for the sake of being louder makes no sense to me.

Especially if you are on the freeway, then it just gets annoying.

Not to mention a lot of towns have modified exhaust laws, which can get you fined for having even a Flowmaster, let alone a glass pack or "loud for the sake of loud" setup. If it's gonna be a trailer queen, that's one thing, but if it's gonna see road time, I'd keep the decibels to a minimum. I have the Dynomax cat-back kit and it's loud enough.

No, I will never condone the complete removal of a cat, 1. its illegal 2. its incredibly annoying.

Don't, you'll hate it!! Trust me I did it, and do!! I have to wait for some other things to get done and I will rectify the problem. Until then I'll deal, my XJ is not my DD, and just gets driven to and from the trail.

To me loud exhaust = annoying disrespectful Jeeper. The kind that gives Jeepin' a bad name as destroyers of the trails.
