My rig fires right up no prob! Usually..... sometimes the NSS acts out. I overloaded the stock alternator the other day no biggie lol

 

Every car should fire up in a couple seconds like 1-2 sec.

 

Between 1 and 5 seconds, but I'm pretty sure that she just likes to f*** with me. 97 4.0

 

The 89 Peep XJ with 4.0 Renix, 300000+ mi really ikes to crank before it starts, doesn't matter if I let fuel pump prime 1st or not. Old and starts slow (just like me, lololol). Wife has had occasion where she comes back in house and says it won't start for her (no patience???) of course it starts for me (4:00am, right out of bed, 10" of snow, slippers and housecoat), the Peep just loves me.
On the other hand our 95 ZJ 4.0 HO 150000 mi fires right up like a rocket everytime.
Why would the wife just not take the ZJ instead of taking my XJ? Guess she just likes to adjust my seat, mirrors, stereo, spill coffee in the console, run down a shopping cart in the parking lot, park and leave my vent window open in a snow storm, and toss the latest homecookin magazine and sandwitch wrappers into the back seat.
It's a wonder the Peep didn't want to start for her. PS My 3 daughters can always start the XJ, the ZJ, or the Libby, they just can't seem to locate any of the fuel caps.

 

I have 2 xj's one's a 96 and it starts right up, I let it sit for 8 weeks and its 13k on the same oil and you have to start it with a screwdriver but it starts on the second turnover. of course, I took the belt and power steering pump off so it doesnt do anything anymore. my 89 on the other hand, it takes a few seconds to get going. I've just atributed it to age and not bother trying to fix it.

 

my 87 with 240k starts right up

 

mine was taking about 5-6 seconds to start up then one day i found out i had a corroded battery connection and cleaned all the contacts and now it takes about 2-3 seconds. its an 89
