Default How to get a real key fob and get power locks/windows to work?

Hi,
#1 Just bought a 2000 XJ a month or two ago. It came with one metal key (looks like my house key). Locking and unlocking is pretty inconvenient. I know there are ways to fix this but not sure how. How would I go about getting an actual key fob with lock/unlock. Not sure if mine has keyless entry or if that would affect it, but I did see that some had that in the manual.
#2 Adding to the inconvenience, I can only roll down the windows from the master switch, and I have to manually lock each door. (the door lock switch doesn't work) I replaced the master switch and that didn't fix it. I checked all the wires behind the kick plate and none were worn or snapped. Could it be a fuse?
Thanks.

several years ago my fob died. There was a guy on ebay that sold 2 fobs and the circuit board that goes in the ovhd light panel for about 100 bucks. I think I did a search for xxxx year jeep xj key fob or something similar. the key fob has nothing to do with the windows and if the master door lock doesn't work on all the doors then the fob might not help you If you have a physical key slot in both front doors then you do not have keyless entry but your master lock switch and fob should work them

You can order new key fobs but it take a factory scan tool to program the key fobs to jeep as for your windows and locks not working check the wiring that goes to the door from the body the wires like to brake there and for the locks the passenger side power window / lock switch runs the locks .There are wright ups on changing to a after market alarm system and I think there some utube videos also .

I did what BlueJeep2001 did a few years ago.
Went on ebay and bought used fobs and the circuit board.
It takes about 15 minutes to install the board in the overhead light.
Easy peasy!

Default Door locking

For the door locking issue I had to replace the actuators which fixed the problem. I had to replace the switch for both the driver and passenger sides as well so I could roll down all the windows so that might be the problem you are having as well
