How to get the heap up and rolling again
So what im mean is basically my heap has been sitting for 5 1/2yrs. i'm gonna change everthing like oil, power steering, wires, plugs, and the belt, but should i change it all out cause how long its been out of comission, will the fuilds go stale from sitting . It has 50,000 miles on it. My questions are
1. should i change the trans fuild and gaskets, cause it sat so long.
2. should i change the transfer case and the differentail fuilds.
sorry if its all drawn out but i want to be as detailed as possible so not to have any confusion. I just wanted to know what u gents would do to ur own rigs b4 puttin them back on the trails after sitting so long.
So thanks guys!!

Just check the oil and tranny fluid.
Worry about making it run first then your not tossing good money after bad.
If the oil is not milky do not bother to change it right away. Oil does not go bad from sitting.
I wouldn't change the power steering fluid or the tranny fluid if there is no water present. (ie Milky)
Fresh gas, and make sure the fuel pump hasn't seized from sitting and the nature of our alcohol laced fuels today.

If the tranny fluid is not milky (water) or does not smell Burnt I wouldn't change it, I'd drive it and if it changes out and shifts ok, and the above (milky or burnt) are not present, I'd just drive it.

Oil does not go bad. Its gets dirty, or water condensation from sitting, but it doesn't degenerate at least in 20 years.
Good Luck with the Jeep.
Since there is not way to reasonably check the transfer case oil level I would change drop it, it only holds 1.5 guarts approx. You can remove the filler plug and stick your finger in to see if you can reach it and smell the oil and inspect for water.
