How does your Cherokee idle?

My 88 had a idle problem I checked it by spraying brakeclean around the intake and vacume lines ect. while it was running and turned out to be the EGR Valve. another problem I ran into the intake gasket was sucking air. I fixed everything in one shot and now it runs fine.

My '89 ideals about 500 rpm on average. And when I start it it will always stall the first time than fire right up. Have yet to figure out what causes that..
