SWAY BARS ARE THERE FOR A REASON...STOP SAYING THEY DON'T AFFECT THE HANDLING THAT MUCH!!!!!removal of sway bars makes the jeep handle like it's got 4 flat tires...guys, take into consideration who you are talking too he states he is a 17yr old kid.....
X2 removing a sway bar is for a trailered rig that sticks to trails. you know, the kind that has its axles welded with no lockers? keep your sway bars on or have fun on your lid.i know how teens drive. im 18

Agreed. I don't have any sway bars on my XJ, it drove terrible before removing it, and it still drives terrible with it gone lol. 2 other friends of mine have XJs both of them have no sway bars, their XJs still drive just fine. My brother in law used to have an 01 XJ with a Skyjacker 6" on it with the quick dissconnects on it, he dissconnected the bar one time just to see how much difference it made off road and forgot to hook them back up for the drive home and didn't realize it was still unhooked till 2 months later when we went wheeling again. Needless to say he took them off and sold them and threw the sway bar in the scrap pile. I'm also not running a front sway bar on my Dakota, it didn't make a difference at all for me on road as far as handling goes, but it rides a heck of a lot better without it. I'm still running a rear sway bar on the Dak as the rear one does help considerably when towing. On the 99 Dakota 4x4 that I had, I was running a Rancho 3" lift with the torsion bars cranked to roughly 4.5" of total lift, I took the sway bar off of that just to see if it would help me get any flex at all out of the front end, turns out that it didn't help at all so I put it back on just to keep the road manners the same. Thats my experience fwiw, best thing I can say is take it off and see how much of a difference it makes for you and if you're willing to deal with the possibly worse handling. If the truck handles worse then you're willing to deal with, what are you out 30min of your time to take the bar off and put it back on again?

I am not saying you should take your swaybar off the front. I just know that my 91 is not that much different. But yes I take it easy on the turns.

Since you're still running stock, leave it on, even when on the trails. I understand wanting some flex, but your brake lines aren't going to cope well with the extra suspension travel and there's a good chance of snapping one. If you're wanting to gain that articulation, get a lift first, upgrade to longer brake lines, then get a set of quick disconnects so you can that extra flex on the trails, but also keep your rig safe on the road. Ther's a reason the geniuses that designed the XJ put front swap bars on all of them.

if you are running it on the road, at speeds over 20mph, do NOT remove/unbolt your swaybar. It is extremely dangerous to run it like that - you lose all emergency avoidance abilities
