Default How do U Secure your Jeep!!(SAD Story)

Hi Cherokee Owners
They stole my jeep about a month ago!! We found it about a week ago with no roof rack, MP3 player, battery, tires and exhaust and catalytic converter...basically they took everything.
NOW I was wondering what is the best way to secure it.( I had security alarm on it already but it didn't stop them).
2- What is the good exhaust that matches with legal catalytic converter in CA.

I'm gonna wheel back my babe to get them...
Thanks for any help

Hiden kill switch.

Check out Summit Racing, they have a deal on Dynomax catback kits (muffler and tailpipe) for $100 and a $75 rebate. Then grab a Magnaflow catalytic converter.. i'm sure it's 50 state legal. The cat is probably another 100 or so.

Glad to hear you got her back.

I have a bad NSS and my fuel light is usually on...

I'm moving back to Phoenix soon, i'd better break the habit of leaving my keys in the ignition when i go into the grocery store!

Since I have the wiring, I was thinking about installing a security key. Its from a ford, but its simple to wire. But yes, a kill switch somewhere.. maybe a rocker or button switch spliced from the ign. switch under your dash somewhere.

Yeah my vote is definitely on the hidden killswitch, the only times I've ever witnessed a car with a KS on it stolen is by the pros who load them up onto flat beds. 20 seconds and the car is outta there, there's really nothing you can do to stop them at that point, but the KS will stop your common thieves.

Also, if your that worried (which I understand, that's definitely a traumatizing experience) invest in a wheel boot. Just a pain to go to and from but if your in a bad area no1 can get the car moving without that key.

get you a nice thick cable and a big ***** lock and and run it thru the holes in two of your wheels that will prolly stop them for a lil bit longer atleast,

Hidden Kill switch is the best. Might want to do two if you want too. One to the starter so the engine will not crank and one to the fuel pump so the motor gets no gas. And If you want to you could just pull off the fuse or relay to the ECU and it wont start either.

A kill switch hooked to the fuel pump, will have the theif going to something easier to figure out.

X2 on killswitch to the fuel pump, with no fuel it's not going anywhere without a tow truck. Also, invest in a GOOD alarm, and have it professionally wired in. Not just one of those one wire cheap ones, they are very easy to defeat.

X3 on the kill switch. You know if you want something work hard and save like the rest of us. I hate when people take short cuts in life.

Im sorry to hear about your jeep. But I would say just like everyone else use a kill switch or park in a garage if you can.
