What's the optimal running temp on a late model XJ? I'm running right at 210 most of the time. Also I'm in Florida where it's in the 80s most of the time these days.

210 is close to where you want to be, at that temp outside. I run 195 most of the time but go to 210 when its hot outside...Tj

Whew good. I probably should do a radiator flush here soon since I don't know if it's ever been done.

I have always run at 210, it doesn't matter if it's hot or cold outside. It ran at 210 when I bought it. It still ran at 210 after I got my radiator flushed.

Default How about SoCal?

I live in Montclair, CA (Inland Empire). It gets hot out here, 10 -15 deg hotter than LA. Today it's 92, it's going to go into the low 100's in the coming months.

I just replaced the Temp Sending Unit and my Heater Valve. Temp is running about 215-220. I've tried to adjust the positiong of the CTS but it doesn't matter.

What do you suggest? Cooling system flush? Any ideas? or is this just normal for my climate.

Default Cooling System Flush

When I replaced my Temp Send Unit and some hoses, I did a big no no of not draining my system first. I will do a system drain and flush and refill in the morning and see if that brings the temp down to where it's supposed to be.
