How do I hook up this transmission?
Hello, I just bought a 4.0 from a 1998 wrangler that had a manual transmission. I have a 98 xj that has a bad motor but a good automatic transmission, and I was just wondering what I have to do to hook up the new engine to the transmission. I know the bell housings are the same on both engines but that’s all I know. I’ve been looking online and I see lots of people switching from auto to manual but haven’t seen any answers for this.

Just make sure you use all your torque converter, flexplate stuff.
You may have to remove the pilot bearing from the crankshaft and possibly a spacer.
