How can i tell if engine really was replaced?

You could always ask to do a compression test. I have asked to do this a few times on a few vehicles I have purchased. While this is not a guarantee it is low mileage, it does not hurt.

i couldnt find that place where it should be we even sprayed some engine cleaner on it and cleaned it off. i did right down the numbers on the head, if they even mean anything
