Get one tire in the air and see if you can rotate it. If you can you're open, If not your locked. Good way to test it is to go try to do some rock crawling, that'll tell you if you have one quick or not.

Well just because he did dosent mean its locked, Its just alot easier to get wheel spin and get tires off the ground that way. Another way to do it would be jack up the rear end and turn the drive shaft, if both wheels turn in the same direction at the same time then you either have LSD or a locker. Big indications of a locker would be a popping or clicking like stated before but it will also make your vehicle lurch slightly.

The factory didn't think it was necessary.....their optional traction enhanced diff was a limited slip, not a locker. If u get one wheel off the ground and it doesn't turn by hand, it could be a limited slip diff, not a locker. Removing the diff cover is the best way to tell what kind of traction enhanced diff you have.....limited slip or locker.

Did the seller say there is a locker in there? Most people would know if they have one since lockers don't come stock and they would have to install it.
To see if you have one in the rear try backing up at a hard angle quickly and the tires should skip if it's locked.
For the front put it in 4x4 on the pavement and try turning it will be almost impossible if you are locked. Also try turning as tight as possible when in 2wd and it will click loudly if it is like most automatic lockers.
