Hi everyone,
I am just on here to seek advice on an issue I am having. I have a 1995 XJ limited (right-hand drive export, I live in Australia). It has the fabled 4.0L and an aftermarket long-range tank with a newly installed fuel pump. The car only has 137,000km (85,000 miles) on the ODO.
In the morning or when the jeep has been sitting for 6+ hours, it will start fine in the usual amount of cranks (1-2 seconds). However, when the jeep is hot + warm outside, it has some long crank issues on hot restart. I have had to crank it for as long as 3-5 seconds on most occasions, but only when hot (after sitting from 10 minutes to a couple of hours). The jeep does not run rough or misfire when it starts, it just has trouble cranking up when it is warm. Is this heat soak? is my MAP sensor or camshaft/crank sensor going bad? let me know your thoughts and ideas. It has never failed to start, just an annoying quirk I would like to fix.
If you need any more info let me know. Thanks
