ok here is the deal... the A/C blows cold but the temp in the Jeep really does not get very cold...

outside temp 98-100F

cabin temps in rear seats 92F

temp in center vent @ idle 64.5F

temp in center vent while moving 56F

it feels cooler in the front seats (but still a little warm)... hotter in the rear

so that the deal... the Jeep is an oven... ideas?

May have a/c problems......ours blows 34F at the center vents (after a/c over haul 6/10). 3 digit ambient will test any a/c system.

General air leaks at all locations. The AC has never worked in the Peep. Trouble developing is each year fewer of the windows go down. It's gettin hotter.
How was your heat at end of last winter? Check your side and rear door seals. Need to have less air exchange in the cabin for the AC to overcome the heat. Also insure you have set your AC control to the recirc condition.

I know... if I am pushing more air doesnt that make the A/C work better?

as for checking the refrigerant level... I did it myself... seemed to be within spec... for the life of me I can not seem to recall what it came up as... I just remember I looked on the R-134a tempurerature/pressure chart and it was almost dead on

more air circulation equals colder ac temps, mine blows 52 at idle and 39 when riding and my system still factory i would find a ac shop and let them give a estimate it dont cost much see what they say go from there you can always replace what they say is the problem then let them vac and fill

I did find a few air leaks... one the size of a dime... right next to the expansion valve... blowing nice cold air right into the engine compartment... I just plugged that up

and a small one on the bottom under the dash... where the hvac case splits in half... did the same there too

the HEAT WAS AWESOME!

the cab is fairly quiet... never noticed any major air leaks...

it is... I also ensured that the recirc door was open...

Everything I've read says 134a is very sensitive to the amount of oil in the system. Also, the accumulator/dryer and orifice tube are filters and can greatly effect performance. When we did our overhaul 6/10, we flushed the evap and cond, drained the compressor, installed a new dryer and orifice tube and added the precise amount of oil called for. Had a shop pull a vacuum and add refrigerant.
