Thumbs down Hose busted....PLEASE help!!

Haven't been on in a while, but in dire need of some advice/suggestions. Sorry this isn't going to be the Readers Digest version but I want to make sure you know what has been done before my issues arose.

1st, I made the mistake of letting my husband work on my jeep (Not that thats why I now have a busted hose). He tightened my ever loosening flywheel and replaced my water pump while I was at work. (He did this 10/13)

I made it home from work yesterday and noticed as I pulled into my drive that my XJ seemed to bog down for a moment. I figured replacing the water pump perhaps there were some air bubbles working themselves out. About 45 minutes later I went to leave - Made it to the end of my (short) driveway and he just stopped. I had to romp on him a bit and no further issue til I put him in drive. Again, having to romp on him to get him to go. Drove a block (Thankfully only to my madres) and parked. Then I spotted the pretty puddle under my boyo.

I can't find my Haynes manual otherwise I would know a bit more about what I'm talking about. He's not seized up, but is NOT shifting at all now. Any water put into my reserve tub is gone in moments. And there is a hose which appears to go from my tranny to my radiator thats busted.

I've called O'Riellys, AutoZone and Advanced Auto. Replacement hose is 30-50 or a connector kit is 8-12 (then I just have to purchase the hose).

Any suggestions? Advice? Anyone have this issue and can give me a run through on replacing it. (Hes a 94 XJ inline 6 2wd)

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU

Sounds like your talking about the trans cooler line. if you are loosing trans fluid it would cause the symptoms you explained aside from the low coolant. I would replace the whole line. I personaly don't like patching metal lines. As to how to do it I am not sure how the jeeps are but it should be pretty straight forward. As for the coolant make sure it is full and if you are still loosing coolant look for a leak and check your other fluids. I have heard of the trans coolers that are built into the radiator rotting on the inside and mixing with the coolant. And with the trans line leak it is a slim possibility that's why you coolant is low but more so likely that it wasent filled all the way after the water pump was done.

The hose from the trans is your trans cooler line, if thats busted your prolly leaking trans fluid if you still have any left.
