I am having this really loud vibration from the front at 70 - 80 MPH. I have replaced both hubs, new tires, brakes have tons of life.

I don't know what to because its driving me nuts.

Any suggestions?

 

have you checked the front driveshaft?

I don't think the front driveshaft moves if you are in 2WD.

Are you sure you are completely out of 4WD and the hubs are unlocked?

If so, the next thing to check are the outer knuckle joints. They do turn, and they are similar to big U-joints. The bearings in them can go bad.

 

The front driveshaft definitely moves if you are in 2wd. That would be a great place to start

 

Why would it move?

 

cuz its connected to the front axles unless he has installed selectable hubs

 

early xj's 87-92? i think..not sure of the years had a diconnect axle, those do not spin while driving. later models without always spun the frond ds.

 

cherokees dont have locking hubs
92+ dont have vacume disco front axles
the front axle is always live there is just no power to the front drive shaft from the transfer case in 2wheel drive

check ujoints track bar tie rod ends

 

On my '92 and my '87, the front driveshaft does not move when I am in 2WD.

It is neither being powered by the transfer case nor is it being drug by the hubs.

 

Have you tried swapping the tires to the rear and the rear to the front? Simple way To check the tires. I know you said they are new but ya never know. Also be sure the exhaust isn't hitting/rubbing the cross member.

Its not in 4 when it happens. I have no clue what it is. Errr

What do I check for on the track bar and tie rod ends?

 

Pull the front shaft out then try it.

 

Did it happen before the tires where changed?
