Default Horrible oil pressure in Jeep XJ

I have a 2000 Jeep Cherokee with almost 240,000 miles. And at operating temp, it gets little to no oil pressure. It has a cylinder head leak could this help the problem?

Pull the oil pressure sensor and thread in a mechanical pressure gauge. See if the dash gauge is accurate first. Otherwise, it's probably time to rebuild the engine.

Cylinder head leak will not lower pressure.

Thank you for all the awesome suggestions. I'm really dreading rebuilding my engine.
