Horrible MPG's!!!
So ive owned this jeep for around a week and ive already fueled up 3 times! The jeeps running on 33's with the 4.0 its got the stock gearing, it feels pretty gutless and like i said it gets bag mpg. Anything I can do to make things better?

Start with a major tune up. Air filter, plugs, wires, oil change, trans fluid & filter, check vacum lines, injecters.
I've got 320k miles on mine and no joke it runs like it just came of the factory floor.

Without numbers on what actual mileage you are getting nobody will be able to begin giving you any real help.
You filled up 3 times in how many miles? We don't know how much you drive in a week.
Has your speedo gear been replaced to give you an accurate speed and odometer?
Also auto or manual as the gears and mileage potential are different. Year will matter too.
My 98 on 33s with a manual and 4.10s gets a tank average of 15mpg.

Bigger tires = less mpg's. I have an 89' 4.0, Auto AW4, NP242 on 31" General AT2's and 4.10 gears. I'm getting 13mpg city and 18mpg Hwy.
Here is a link to figure out geraring. You also need a new speedo gear which is located in the trans.

If you have the money, time or tools... re-gear the axles thats the only way to restore or improve upon factory power
and be sure the speedo gear is set up correctly in the mean time so at least you can get an accurate count on MPGs

the speedometer doesn't work if it did i would have posted the miles. I dint drive too much and 90% was hwy. I know re gearing it will do tons but what else could I do? Also the tune up has been done....i was wondering on something a tad more drastic like a top end rebuild or full injectors etc

Injectors will not help with MPGs much at all. When I did mine, I didn't see a single ounce of improvement in mileage. If you're looking to improve your MPGs, replace your upstream o2 sensor, clean your throttle body, and check your exhaust manifold for cracks. Other than that, things like keeping your fluids fresh, using Seafoam and regular tune ups is the best way to keep getting the most out of your vehicle. Like said above, re-gearing is the only way you'll see a real improvement. I'm just hoping you didn't buy a Cherokee for its gas mileage
