Horn will stop

I had to drop my steering column to replace heater core. I reassembled it. I connected my battery and the horn started blowing. It still went off with the horn button disconnected. Any ideas as to what may of happened ? I do not want to wire up a separate button. On a 2000 Cherokee Sport.

Check to see if you pinched a wire/harness when you bolted the column back up or put the clock spring back in. The horn button merely provides a ground for the horn circuit.

You can also pull the horn relay or fuse 21 (15a) in the junction block to silence the horn for now.
