Default Hood vent question

Most threads about hood vents on here show a photo of under the hood on how the vents were mounted. My question is with the hood insulation removed from under the hood, wouldn't the heat blister the clear coat and paint over time? Just looking at all the pro's and con's about hood vents before I decide to insall a set. Thanks.

are you talking about the insulation?
if so then no, I have no insulation in mine at all and in Az the heat of the motor + ambient temp is leading me down the vent path myself... allowing the heat out will lessen the prospect of blistering, R

I never had insulation on mine in the 10+ years I've had it or any of my other ones and the paint looks fine. Actually the hood is about the only place my paint does look good.

I have bought brand new cars that didn't have it from the factory so I doubt it will hurt anything.

IMO if you're worried about the paint, you're doing something wrong...lol. Use it offroad for a while, and you will stop caring as much about clear coat etc. Kinda hard to care about taking care of the clear coat after it's been covered in mud, scratched against rocks and trees, etc.
