Hood fitment.. locking latching???!?!
So on my new to me 98 XJ, i noticed the front passenger side hood sticking up a bit. I pushed it down with two palms, and then it was flush. It had no problems the other 2? times i opened/closed it looking at it on purchase. This last time i just tried to open it, the drivers side was fine, the latch was obviously unlatched, but the passenger side was STUCK!!!!
wtf is going on here. anybody? i wanted to ask first before i stuck a wood broomhandle in to pry it up or something. the hood seems so flimsy, i dont want to end up bending it needlessly.

try pushing it down to make sure its "CLICKED" shut. go and pull real fast and hard on the hood release. Mine got stuck on the passenger side also a time or two. I pushed down on it and popped it open real fast and hard. Also, there is a latch other then the center latch on the passenger side. Re-lube the latch catches on the hood. As for adjusting the hood height, there should be a rubber stop on the radiator support that you can turn out and in. turn it down a little

the previous owner of my 98 XJ told me the hood was sticking and it needed a new latch release. I raised the hood and lubed all the latched with white lithium grease and installed a Junk Yard hood release and it's been working perfectly ever since. Although the center latch is pretty rusted but, the lithium grease has and is definitely helping with it and it hasn't gotten stuck yet. I plan on spraying it every so often to keep it working good.
