Honest Answer
On a scale of 1-10 and 10 being are you nuts answer this.
I have new Heavy Duty Leaf Spring from Quadratec. I have the factory jack and limited hand tools. (May run to harbor freight to get a socket or two more if you tell me the sizes. I am out of town on a new job and all my stuff is at home 993 miles away)
Can 1, yes 1, man do it within reason by themselves without being superman?

I agree.. Soak those for a few days and see what happens. I would find something to get under your XJ for extra support besides just the factory jack. You don't want it falling on you as your trying to free those bolts.

I'd wait till you got it home with your tools. Not easy lifting an axle and bolting to the springs with one factory jack..
I doubt you could manage to lift it far enough to get jackstands under the frame.

Ya I gotta say i would agree here... If you have more tools at home wait but 3 or 4 days before you go home soak the bolts with PB blaster and by the time you get home they should come off a whole lot better

try jacking the frame up just to relieve stress. don't lift the tire off the ground, or it will stress the leafs the opposite way. but i don't think i would do it without a jackstand. you'll probably need a breaker bar and a bucket of pb. good luck...

Nope, not possible, not gonna happen, no way, no how!
...................lol........jk
I know first hand the evils of not having the right tool for a project
Easy route: wait to have all the right tools at your disposal.
Fubar route:.........well
Better to have two sets of jack stands, one set for frame to get'er in the air,
and the other to support the axle so it doesn't go dropping on your foot or something.
Your going to HF? buy the jackstands, and the $70 auto jack and your set

PB blaster is good. I bet you can get the shackle end. The other end usually takes some work. pb, heat, lots of beer, heat, breaker bar, heat, hammer, more beer, breaker bar, heat, ahh **** it cut the bolt, extract was left or weld a new nut on the inside after cutting the backside of the unibody rail.
or it might just pop out. never know till you try
