Hey guys, I need some help locating an honest mech who does good 4X4 work in Amarillo Tejas. My daughter's 04 WJ Grand Cherokee is having front diff problems and I am a good distance away. Would like to point her to a good competent shop that can diagnose or maybe replace the front axle assembly if it comes to that. Thanks in advance.

How many miles does she have on her WJ? With higher mileage, the diffs seem to wear out and need a complete rebuild or replacement, especially if the Jeeps are driven on rougher roads and terrain... on any Jeep, NOT just WJ's, my dad's 2005 WK had to have the front diff replaced because it was making noise and you felt a "clunk" sometimes. We paid a little over $1,000 to have it replaced by a Jeep mechanic. It is costly.

Over 100K and it's used, so we don't have a good idea how it was kept and maintained. Yep, sheet wears out and that gets expensive...no doubt. Just hoping to help her find an honest mech/tech far from home...any input is appreciated.
