home made air intake?

does anybody have a model number for the spectre filter you guys are talking about? i have to order it online and none of the websites are giving me information on its flow rate, so i cant be sure which to order

the part number on autozone.come are as follows
red 8132
blue8136
grey8138
i have the Grey one but the only diff is just the color

Here a re a couple pics of my homade CAI. Also not I relocated teh IAT to the intake tube.


and hereis a pickofteh aluminum "L" bracket I made to hold the Intake from flopping around. It goes intot he front of the filter. very simple.

So this isn't what I did but its what I'm going to do. I think it's a pretty cool idea and will definitely help keep water out of your intake. As long as you don't mind the noise I think this would be the way to go.

Default better flow

Not a cold air intake ! You can see where i connected my fuel evap canister and valve cover vent. I bent a heat shield out of aluminum and attached it with a large clamp that goes through two notches i made in the shield . The filter is a K&N for a late model big block GM. Been running this for about 10 years and have had no problems with the state emission requirements. When i did the engine swap i had to take it to the state and have them check everything before i could put it back on the road!
